On the way to Santa Fe we stopped at a rest area. There was a picnic table that looked to have been torn apart and was surrounded by police tape. YEP nothing better than a good rest area. I will post a pic of that later.

For the end of the year 2011 the family and I spent some time in Santa Fe. I have been to Santa Fe in the past to drop off work and talk about work but I have never really spent any time there. WHAT A GREAT TOWN!

We saw some incredible art and visited some great galleries. If you are ever in the area make sure to stop by the POP Gallery. The work there is great! My favorite pieces that I saw down there was at the POP Gallery. Junker Jane is definitely a new favorite of mine. You can check out her work on her site.

The international Folk Art Museum is also worth a stop, actually several stops. They have some great dolls and puppets and we all know how much I love dolls and puppets especially creepy ones…and they have plenty. They also had a show called “The Arts of Survival: Folk Expression in the face of Natural Disaster. It explores how folk artists have helped their communities recover from disasters. They spotlight several Haitian artists so that was very special to me as well. Even more so than the creepy dolls. This show is up till May 6, 2012 so get on over there if you have a chance.
